What is a Power of Attorney?

  • Just like a Will, a Power of Attorney is an important part of advanced care planning.
  • A Power of Attorney is a legal document that gives someone the ability to make decisions about your finances and health if you are mentally unable to act for yourself.
  • By doing a Power of Attorney YOU get to pick who will be in charge if you cannot make decisions.
