Community Health Centres (CHCs) support people and communities to be healthy by working collaboratively and focusing on the whole person. We have a team of health care professionals who work together to address your health needs, and we offer many community programs to help individuals and families improve your health and prevent illness.
Depending on the program or service you use at BQWCHC, you may work with one or more of our interdisciplinary care team including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, , social workers, health promoters, community resource workers, administrative staff or others to help you reach your goals.
CHCs focus on health equity. Our priority is to make sure people who face social, cultural or geographic barriers to health care or who are at risk of developing health problems can get the care and health services they need.
We strive to understand our clients and community so that we can deliver the services they need, when and where they want them using the most effective methods. Sometimes that means looking outside of our centre, and BQWCHC has built strong connections with partners across the health system and community to meet the diverse needs of Belleville and Quinte West/Trenton residents. We also work with these partners to improve health policies and encourage changes that will make the province’s health system more client-focused.
CHCs are not-for-profit organizations. Each is governed by a volunteer board of directors that reflects the communities it serves and supports the CHC to be responsive to the community’s changing needs.
